Almost all the countries have government regulated boards which provide assistance to the inventors. The real value of technological inventions coming from individuals is no small. Technology innovation is not the result of mumbo jumbo science and fitting the pieces together. How ever, many inventors feel that they do not get attention in their life time. If you look at patent registry of each year, almost 90% of them have no commercial value in the market. Most of the companies rely on their own R&D departments to create something new. There are laboratories such as CERN which pioneers research in many fields. Researchers are divided in groups. First group is of the people who are doing research for their Doctorate degrees. The other group gets the funding from private sector and such research is purely for commercial products. It helps that way but the individual researcher fails to see the light of the few headlines. Only luckier ones get through the tough requirements of the companies. Anything and everything you see in technology segment is the result of serious research. Research of large scale is not possible with incubation funded by the corporate sector. Many investors view such investment as gamble as it may or may not pickup in the market.
