Nokia N8 Review

Posted in Nokia N8

As a phone company that pioneered the market back in the early years, Nokia had failed to pull up its socks and take a confident run at the smart-phone market, until, in April of last year, they released the N8 available at phones4u. This handset boasts the newest and most creative concepts ever conceived on behalf of the Nokia production teams.
At 113x59x12.9mm it’s not exactly a small piece of hardware and at 135g it feels rather weighty in comparison to other smart phones, but rest assured that this would be considered a worthy sacrifice after interacting with the screen and software.
The 3.5”, 360x480px, AMOLED screen is highly desirable and exudes a quality that supports the highly detailed 12 megapixel camera. With only five physical buttons; controlling power, volume etc, most of the interaction is centred on this fantastic screen.
With a potential 32GB external memory the N8 matches most of its key competitors, and coupled with the use of the AMOLED screen, various widgets and access to an array of apps, this has placed it relatively high in the favourable eye of the general public.
It has been nearly a year since Nokia enthusiasts had ended their six-month wait for the release of this phone and since then it has enjoyed a fair amount of success. Whilst other companies had released generation after generation of smart phone Nokia had been biding their time, awaiting the right moment at which they should unveil this handset.
It would be fair to say that this phone has satisfied many loyal Nokia consumers and possibly swayed a few deserters of other companies; so it is considered worth the wait, but with the market moving at such the accelerating pace that it is, Nokia will have to develop something really quite special to maintain its footing. Not an easy task for an old company operating in a new market. The Nokia N8 is now availble at phones4u online and in store.
